Heritage Timbercraft restores and rebuilds historic timber frame barns from the 18th and 19th centuries which we source, import and restore from the USA and Canada. These buildings are either hand-hewn or sawn on early mills out of native forests by the original settlers and have incredible character and craftsmanship. We work with clients to take these time-tested, hand-crafted structures and combine them with modern, energy-efficient designs and materials to make beautiful and unique barn homes, post and beam spaces, wedding and event centers.
Our relationship with Heritage Barns, one of the largest providers of restored historic barns in the US, give us access to a wide range of quality barn frames for our New Zealand customers

We have a large range of antique hand-hewn beams, floor planks, reclaimed, barn siding as well as local reclaimed Totara and Hardwood timber. We can work with you to incorporate these into your home or can simply supply you with the materials.

Our growing team of craftmen enjoy making a range of furniture and joinery that will bring craftsmanship, texture and warmth into your home. Our current range includes heritage gates, barn-style doors, sliding barn doors, staircases, planter boxes, feature wall panels.

The team at Heritage Timbercraft have been involved in post and beam construction for over 12 years We can design, engineer, build and raise trusses, pergolas or entry ways using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, steel plates or internal fasteners.

A tiny house can also be a good option for a bach or as an additional residence or temporary residence on your building site. If you are looking for something with craftsmanship and character then we can work with you to create something unique for you. Our tiny houses can be built on piles or on a trailer. We can help with engineering and council consent too.
