Time to say goodbye to my beloved CTS Affinity Switch Rod. (Short Spey Rod)

New Zealand made. Comes with the reel and tube as pictured.

I built this in 2012 when life was a much simpler time. I've had my share of fun with it since then, but recently decided to go to a longer rod and so this one has to go.

If you've never used a double handed fly rod, then you should. Learning to fish a two hander has opened up a whole new world of opportunity for me. I was once a person who would purely sight fish the headwaters, with little interest in doing anything else.

Learning to use a double hander has seen me swinging flies through much larger waters across the country. It took a while, but I was able to discover the thrill that comes from a well executed cast that sends the running line ripping through the eyes, sometimes followed by a solid hit of a fish as it smacks whatever you have tied on the end. It is a pretty special sort of fun.

Unfortunately I can't remember the exact grain window for this blank... I currently have it loaded with a 420 grain Airflo Skait Switch head, but it can handle heavier.

The reel is a Riverworks R3. It is by no means a top of the line reel, but it is made from machined aluminium and has a disc drag, and hasn't let me down yet.

Pick up is from Bishopdale, Christchurch. Shipping to be arranged, but I imagine I can get it anywhere in the country for $25 or less.
