Custom Built in New Zealand by Hyper-X, Traditional Strings are hand made to standard AMO measurements, all Hyper-X strings use our inhouse Pre-Stretch system.

Traditional series strings are built to a Recurve AMO Standard, What does this mean? In short you sting has been twisted up to suit a standard AMO Recurve bow, there is a chance you might need a slightly shorter string that’s fine just add some twists to shorten it.

What happens if I have a longbow? Generally, you need a string 1 inch longer than a Recurve equivalent. Just unwind your string a few twists to get your desired length.

What Length do I need? Well there is a few ways to do this, generally there is a number on your bow 58” , 60” generally these sizes range between 46” and 72” but it’s not limited to these sizes, see below for an example of string lengths in AMO

Recurve Bow 60” AMO = Actual String Length 56” Recurve Bow 68” AMO = Actual String Length 64” Long Bow 68” AMO = Actual String Length 65” Long Bow 70” AMO = Actual String Length 67”

Recurve bows typical have a string 4 inches shorter than AMO and a longbow 3 inches shorter

Please remember the AMO measurement is not the physical length of the string.

Make Sure you choose the correct length AMO if you’re in doubt ask first, strictly no refunds or returns for incorrect string orders.

B50 = Soft quiet shooting, recommended for bows, manufactured pre 1980, Homemade bows, or bows under 40# draw weight, or when manufacturers requirements states, strings tend to stretch/settle for a while
