Description

The Wreck Book: Rediscovered New Zealand Shipwrecks By Steve Locker-Lampson and Ian Francis

In EXCELLENT Condition

Is a comprehensive guide for the diver who has dreamed of sunken treasure. It is also food for thought for the country's maritime historians. From the Endeavour in 1795 to the Marudia Maru No. 2 in 1977, is a span of 182 years. This book covers all known wrecks and hulks in New Zealand and it's environs, including Three Kings, Auckland Islands, and Chatham Islands during this period. By known wrecks is meant those that can be visited by non-divers, or those that have been dived on at some time. Photos of the ships in their prime, in a sinking state, and as they appear today are included, as well as images of recovered artifacts. Appendices list diving clubs and air filling stations, and extracts from laws relating to maritime salvage and the Historic Places Amendment Act (1975)...
