The resort has a swimming pool, spa pool, BBQ area, gym, tennis court, bikes, a forest walk to an orchid house, a library, restaurant and a tour booking desk.

Paihia is a great base for many tours:

• Drive to Cape Reinga at the very top of NZ (surf the massive sand dunes);
• Ferry to the world-famous Hole in the Rock island;
• High-speed boat across the Bay or peacefully watch the dolphins play;
• Picnic on some of the 144 islands in the Bay;
• Ferry to the picture-perfect town of Russell, NZ’s original capital;
• Visit Kerikeri to see the famous Stone Store and also enjoy the local restaurants and wineries;
• Swim at the beautiful local beaches;
• Golf on the local international-standard course Waitangi or Kauri Cliffs.

The auction is for a one bedroom unit (sleeps 4). The current annual maintenance fee is $747/yr, already paid until 15 December 2018. I have also paid the first instalment of the additional maintenance levy.

Although this is a one bedroom unit, there is no problem exchanging it for any available one or two bedroom unit at no additional cost.

Change-of-title legal fees for the purchaser is $650.
