What happens when a nerdy waiters drive to create hip art exceeds his talent? Beatnik bloodlust! Nerdy waiter Walter Paisley (Dick Miller) really digs the scene at the Greenwich Village coffeehouse and beatnik hangout where he works. Craving the acceptance of the poetry-sprouting, bongo-beating bohemians he tries to create hip works of underground art. But Walter shows no talent until the accidental death of his landladys cat inspires him to make murder his canvas! By poking fun at the pretensions of wannabe Beat Generation bohemians, Roger Corman created an hilarious black comedy cult classic thats just as funny today as when it was made in 1959. The B-movie king again hired writer Charles B Griffith to follow a similar recipe for the later, better-known comedy Little Shop of Horrors, but many Corman connoisseurs still regard A Bucket of Blood as the tastier treat.
