Cosmic Era 71. A war is under way between genetically enhanced Coordinators and unmodified Naturals. The Natural-dominated Earth Alliance, struggling to catch up with the Coordinators' superior technology, has secretly developed its own Gundam mobile suits at a neutral space colony.

Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 10 - Day of Destiny (2002) A fierce three-sided battle ensues. In the midst of this chaos, Flay is set adrift in a life pod carrying the key that will end the war. Meanwhile, the Alliance gathers a massive space fleet at its lunar base, but ZAFT attacks with a devastating gamma-ray laser known as GENESIS that wipes out half its vessel! The Archangel, Eternal, and Kusanagi fight to prevent both sides from using their weapons of annihilation. Now, the three lone ships and a handful of people are all that stand between humanity and total destruction!Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 2 - Unexpected Meetings (2002) Kira is still trying to come to terms with being the reluctant pilot of the Strike Gundam. Now, he and veteran mobile armor pilot Mu La Flaga must defend the state-of-the-art Archangel and its crew while being pursued by Commander Le Creuset and the ZAFT forces. As the attacks on the ship heightens, desperate times call for desperate measures Kira must betray his friends and once again risk his life. And once more, Kira will be forced to confront his friend Athrun on the field of battle.

Separate Ways Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 3 - No Retreat (2002) Kira is disciplined for helping Lacus escape; meanwhile, the entire Federation 8th Fleet moves to rendezvous with the Archangel. But Le Creuset has reinforcements as well, and he launches a new attack. When the Archangel joins the 8th Fleet, Le Creuset attacks, and they must make an emergency escape. But on the descent to Earth, in an attempt to reunite witih Kira in the Strike, they land in the wrong location. Kira, meanwhile, is in sick bay from injuries sustained during re-entry. Athrun, Dearka, and Izak are sent to Earth to pursue the Archangel and the Strike. And back at the PLANTS, the militant ZAFT forces now have all the reason they need to escalate the war. Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 4 - Desert Warfare (2002) In the dead of night, Andy Waltfeld, ZAFTs legendary Desert Tiger, strikes! As Kira struggles with adapting to fighting in the desert, Andy watches, impressed. But the Gundams energy is running low, and only the timely intervention of a group of resistance fighters saves the day. They decide to cooperate in an attempt to defeat Waltfeld. After the battle, Kira will have come face-to-face with the man known as the Desert Tiger. Meanwhile, on the PLANT Supreme Council, their parents debate plans for Operation Spit Break, their retaliatory strike against Earth. Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 5 - Archangel's Flight (2002) After a final pitched battle in the desert, the Archangel must begin to make her way to the Federation base at Alaska. Cagalli and Kisaka decide to accompany them. En route, they are attacked numerous times by ZAFT maritime mobile suits. The Strike is at a distinct disadvantage. During the battle, Cagalli is shot down and lands on a deserted island. But Athrun has also crash-landed there. Cagalli takes an instant dislike to Athrun, who doesnt seem to care. The war just became personal. Finally, with an exhausted crew and a badly-damaged ship, the Archangel reaches the neutral nation of Orb. They think theyre safe, but how long will it last? Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 6 - Momentary Silence (2002) The damaged Archangel is safely berthed in Orb where it undergoes repairs. Meanwhile, the Zala Team has infiltrated Orb to search for the Archangel. The rest of Kiras friends are reunited with their families. Kira, meanwhile, avoids his parents, and then has an unpleasant encounter with Flay. The time comes for the Archangel to resume its journey to Alaska, but they are attacked as soon as they reach open water. The battle gets very personal as someone on each side falls in battle. Finally, enraged, Kira and Athrun battle heightens to the bitter end which leads to devastating results!Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 7 - Suspicious Motives (2002) The Archangel limps toward Alaska, having lost contact with both the Strike Gundam and Tolles Skygrasper. Cagalli, meanwhile, discovers a wounded Athrun, and is shocked to learn what happened. In Alaska, the Archangel crew are told to stand by for further orders, and tensions continue to mount. Elsewhere, Kira awakens and finds himself in the care of Lacus Clyne. ZAFT launches Operation Spit Break, and the Federation is caught completely by surprise. Now, the Archangel is one of a handful of ships left at Alaska to defend JOSH-A from a massive ZAFT offensive. And beneath the base lies a secret that will destroy them all!Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 8 - Eternal Crusade (2002) After Operation Spit Break, Patrick Zala, the new leader of the PLANTS, orders the arrest of Lacus Clyne and her father, branding them as traitors. Athrun is given a new mission: to track down the stolen Freedom Gundam, and a new weapon to do it. The Archangel has returned to Orb and learns that Orb is being pressured to join the Federation. The Archangel must fight to defend Orb but, they face three powerful new Gundams with unusually skilled pilots.
The Federation launches a final attack on Orb and Lord Uzumi puts his ultimate plan into action. It will be a day of great sadness and great revelations as the battle begins! Synopsis - Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Volume 9 - Evolutionary Conflict (2002) Athrun returns home to PLANTs to confront his father, who is enraged at his failure and has him arrested. Meanwhile, Lacus steals a new ZAFT warship and helps rescue Athrun along with the help of someone from Kiras past. The Dominion is ordered to capture the Freedom and Justice Gundams as well as attacking the Archangel, but Murrue is shocked to learn who its Captain is. When Mus Strike Gundam is damaged, Kira shows up and destroys Raus Mobile Suit. Rau proceeds to relate a story that involves himself, Kira and Mu. The Archangel is once again attacked but this time Mu and Kira are no where to be seen!
