Oscar winning triple packs at a sensational price. Take a Seat, close the doors, dim the lights and leave your troubles behind You are about to relive the magic of the matinee era, a golden era of quality, style and sophistication. Brilliant writing, incredible performances, masterful directing The Classic Matinee Triple Bill series is your exclusive gold pass to viewing excellence. In 1937, J. Arthur Rank formed the iconic Rank Organisation. With the simple philosophy, great stories, beautifully told Rank produced some of the finest writers, actors and directors the screen has ever known. Presented here is a selection of some of the rarest gems from the Rank catalogue, films that are sure to delight lovers of cinema, young and old. The rank organization produced some outstanding horror films with some of the biggest stars of their particular era. These three tales of horror are no exception. Included here is a fully restored version of The Ghoul which has rarely seen the light of day for many decades and is one of the jewels of the Rank crown. The ghoul (1933): An eminent Egyptologist has purchased a precious stone stolen from an Egyptian tomb. He is buried with the stone in the hope that it will appease the gods after death. But the stone is stolen from his tomb and the Professor is not dead, but in a trance. He returns as a ghoul, furious at the theft, and anxious to seek his revenge on those responsible. Countess Dracula (1971): M. Countess Elizabeth viciously strikes a chambermaid causing blood to splash on the Countesss face. To her amazement, the blood makes her skin youthful and smooth. Enlisting the help of her devoted servant, she kills the maid and makes herself look 25 years younger. She embarks on a passionate romance with a young officer, until one day she reverts back to her old appearance. The shout (1978): M recommended for mature audiences . The sun beams down on a cricket match in the village green. It is the annual competition between the villagers and members of the local mental hospital. In the scoring tent are two patients, Crossley and Graves. Crossley boasts of having supernatural powers that allowed him to kill with his shout. Although Robert dismisses it as an insane fantasy the proceedings soon take a sinister turn.
