Welcome to the Women’s Refuge 2011 appeal. This year, we’re running a fundraising auction with a difference. We’ve listed a series of items that have been given to us by the families of those directly affected by domestic violence. We’re asking you to take a minute to find out more about these items and the stories behind them. If you’d like to show your support then you can use the ‘buy now’ on any of our auctions for these items – for which you’ll receive a personal thank-you note from the families. Or you can make a direct donation for any amount via the Women’s Refuge website.

Alongside items from the families, you’ll also see a number of fantastic experiences offered by celebrity Kiwis. These include the chance to star on Shortland St, play rugby with Ruben Wiki and even have Anika Moa sing at your wedding. Plus loads more. All these experiences can be bid for. Highest bidder wins, with the proceeds also going to our appeal. Take a look and place your bid.

Women’s Refuge exists to help and support those affected by domestic violence. If you need our help, we won’t judge you and we won’t tell you what to do. But we will listen and we will help you make choices that will help ensure your safety. We’re not a government department, but an independent community organisation. As such, we rely on the goodwill of our supporters to exist. Your donations really do make a difference to the lives of hundreds of women across New Zealand.
