A young woman is the latest to join the list of dumb tweets when she claimed to having knocked over a cyclist while driving in England.Emma Way has since discovered that police in England read Twitter and posted a tweet for her to contact them. They have since tracked her and the cyclist down to continue the investigation. The tweet and the Twitter account have since been deleted but the original tweet: "Definitely knocked a cyclist off earlier – I have right of way he doesn’t even pay road tax” has gone viral via retweets. The message was signed off with the hashtag #bloodycyclistsThe Telegraph newspaper reported a spokesperson for Norfolk police force posted on Twitter: "we have identified parties believed involved and are progressing".The cyclist, named as 29-year-old Toby Hockley, wasn't going to report the incident because, according to The Telegraph, he believed his girlfriend would be worried about him cycling in the future. However, the tweet had gone viral and after being shown the message by teammates from his cycling club he decided to contact police.Hockley told the BBC that "a car came tearing round the blind corner and narrowly missed a cyclist in front of me. She came on to my side of the road, I took the wing mirror off and I went flying off my bike into a hedge."She hit me hard, really hard. I am lucky to be alive."But I managed to get out of the hedge and stand up. The car was nowhere to be seen. She hit me, and she was gone. All I know is that it was a blonde girl driving."Hockley said the best possible outcome would simply be to improve the attitudes of drivers towards cyclists."We try our best to share the road and be respectful to motorists and deserve the same respect."
