Daimler Ferret Scout Car 1959

Ex-British Army Liaison & Reconnaissance vehicle. In very good working order. A total blast to drive - go anywhere with a huge grin factor! A massive head-turner. It would make a great promotional or advertising vehicle. Mileage is in miles = 9570 miles.

History:
02CC64 went to West Germany to join the British Army of the Rhine during the cold war years. Serving first in the 4th Armoured Brigade Headquarters and Signal Squadron in the 60s and 70s and then with the 14th/20th Kings Hussars (as scout for their Chieftain tanks) based at Hohne in the 80s.

Specs:
Crew 2 (max 4) Weight about 3500kgs. Full-time 4 wheel drive & independent coil suspension, 4.2L 6 cylinder Rolls Royce B60 petrol engine, 5 speed pre-selective transmission & fluid flywheel drive. A forward / reverse lever is fitted which allows travel at nearly 100kph both forwards & backwards! Fully armoured with run-flat tyres & reserve fuel tank.

Being a Mark 1 it has an open top with canvas cover. The no 19 set radio is still fitted and the intercom headsets are working - useful for comms between driver and commander on the move.

This vehicle has not been road registered in NZ but other Ferrets have - perfect for a trip to the drive thru or supermarket!

I have owned this vehicle about 6 years, it has been well looked after and regularly serviced. I have fitted electronic ignition and replaced other parts as needed. Sale to include full (very comprehensive) set of user, service & repair manuals + full driving instruction lesson.

Of all the army vehicles I own this is my favourite to drive, but I have 2 so am selling 1 to fund another purchase.
