Wild at Heart follows a couple on the run in the deep south through a maze of twisted, frightening events. Just released from the Pee Dee Correctional facility, Sailor Ripley (Nicolas Cage) and his devoted lover, Lula Pace (Laura Dern), are fleeing her crazed mother Marietta (Diane Ladd) who forbids their relationship. As they travel through small towns across the south, we watch Lula and Sailor's relationship unfold. They also encounter several obscure creatures who thrive on danger, including the black angel, Bobby Peru (Willem Dafoe) and his paramour, Perdita Durango (Isabella Rossellini). David Lynch uncovers a dark and dirty world inhabited by people who keep deep secrets and are strangers to the ordered world around them.
