The concert footage was filmed on the 14th, 15th and 17th of November 2004 in Melbourne Australia during the Eagles' current sell-out Farewell 1 tour. The phenomenally successful music of the Eagles has been like a soundtrack to the lives of a whole generation and their still finding new audiences. The concert includes all their greatest hits, fans will be able to relive the experience with this great-value DVD package.

As an Australian journalist commented: "the band is as refreshing as ever, free flowing, laid back, harmonically tight and unpretentious. This is the rock of ages. This is indestructible song writing."

On the Australian leg of the farewell 1 tour, the four Eagles were backed by an eight-piece band and the show also includes some new song material. The 2 hour show also includes the songs that over 3 decades have made the Eagles one of the richest rock acts in the world, As Glenn Frey said, explaining why he's still playing the oldies: "The longer this goes on, the better these songs sound."

Frey also said that there is a "sort of" honesty in calling the tour Farewell 1, with its implication that Farewell 2 will follow soon.
