| Owen Daybright (Burt Lancaster) is the adopted son of rancher Arch Strobie (Ray Collin) and foster brother of Lee Stroble (Robert Walker). The virtuous Owen has spent his life covering up the devious actions of his brother, but Lee wants Owen out of the way so he can become sole heir to the ranch.
