217 The Things We Cannot Change Floating dangerously near a newly formed, spinning black hole, Captain Dylan Hunt attempts to gather data in the Eureka Maru. As the crew of Andromeda waits nervously for Dylan to return, a load explosion rocks the Maru, and Dylan disappears from their sight. When Dylan opens his eyes, he is in a beach house with his beautiful wife and their son, and realises he has entered an alternate reality. 218 Fair Unknown. The crew of the Andromeda discovers a destroyed Kalderon ship. The mission log reveals that the Kalderons were returning from the planet Ral Partheia when they were attacked and destroyed by the Vedran, a species extinct since the fall of the Commonwealth. After the attack, a slip-pod was deployed from the ship, and the Vedran escaped. Dylan heads for Ral Partheia to search for the lost species.
