Car inspections

Content kindly supplied by consumer.org.nz.

Before buying a used car, it’s important to inspect the car thoroughly.

The car should be clean and dry, or you may miss defects in the panel work. It’s also a good idea to take someone with you, as some things are much easier to check with two people, such as the brake lights.

You can download and print a comprehensive car inspection checklist free from consumer.org.nz, to use as a guide to your vehicle inspection.
