The idea came about after identifying a gap in the market for supporting small scale producers, makers, artists and designers across New Zealand. The Marketplace connects these sellers with consumers who can buy directly. It bridges the gap between direct sales from their own website and wholesale with high margins.

The Marketplace went live in August 2024 after 15 months of intense behind the scenes work, most notably the build of the Marketplace platform and extensive brand and community building.
