The Daily Yarn - live satirical NZ news website (going concern, fully automated)

dailyyarn.co.nz. A self-running satirical news site for NZ, with a self-serve ad platform that creates articles, takes payments and runs ads on its own. Publishing daily right now, the buyer takes it over as a going concern, with no rebuild needed.

Readers submit a photo and a line; the site turns it into a full satirical article in the voice of a cast of fake NZ reporters. AI "locals" comment, and every article gets a shareable social image. 165+ articles already live.

Auto generates 3 articles each morning, if none were submitted in the last 24 hours, and sends a daily update to subscribers at 6.30am.

Fully automated, self-serve advertising

A NZ business advertises end-to-end without you talking to them: they just pick a package, upload their own creative or use the built-in builder (name, tagline, logo, colours ? a polished ad rendered automatically) and pay via Stripe. The ad rotates for the period paid, then expires on its own. The whole loop runs itself. Tiered founding pricing (~$99–$799) already wired in.

Included: domain; full codebase and 175+ articles; daily front-page generator; submission wizard; AI reporters/commenters; auto OG images; AI quality gate; and the self-serve ad platform.
Tech: Laravel 11, Filament, PostgreSQL, S3, Stripe, Claude/GPT-4o, Horizon, on Forge. Costs: ~$0.05 per article, ~$30/month hosting, .co.nz renewal, Stripe fees on ad sales.

Honest gaps: platform, content and ad machinery all work, but the site is early on audience and advertisers. Needs an owner to grow the community side and push ads to small businesses.

Handover: runs as-is, no interruption. All credentials, accounts, Stripe connection and code transferred on settlement. Only been taken online in the last few days, no earnings or real subscribers yet.

Satire: all content is fictional and labelled as satire. Sale conditional on keeping it satirical - not for resale as real news. I built this for fun.
