Cloudy Bay Clams Limited, Cloudy Bay Holdings Limited, Cloudy Bay Marine Limited and Cloudy Bay Seafood Limited (All In Receivership) (together “the Group”) trading as Cloudy Bay Clams was placed into receivership on 2 April 2024.
The Group has over 30 years experience operating a clam fishery business based in Marlborough, NZ, and specialises in the harvest of four main surf clam species. The Group is renowned for exceptional quality products that are highly sought after in both the domestic and export markets.
The Group has cultivated strong relationships with a diverse range of domestic and international customers with the opportunity for further expansion. By acquiring the Group, you inherit a loyal customer base and the potential to tap into new geographic regions driving growth and diversification.
The operation has established processes meeting all regulatory requirements under MPI, MNZ, USFDA, CIQ & the EU. It also has a range of vessel assets and experienced employees that provides continuity for successful ongoing operations.
The Group is the largest holder of surf clam quota in NZ with the current annualised catch below the quota capacity. As such, there is significant revenue growth potential for the business going forward.

The receivers are seeking expressions of interest in the business as a going concern or assets of the Group. The receivers are ideally looking to complete a sale in a single transaction of all assets as a going concern. The receivers will also consider individual asset sales.
