Reason for Selling & Business Overview
My overseas work commitments take up a significant amount of time, leaving little time for running the firewood business. The business was established in 2016 and was originally designed for me to operate on a part-time basis while at home.
In 2022, I upgraded most of the equipment:
• Replaced the old firewood truck with a new Foton Aumark C (later fitted with a cage) – to date it has done less than 10,000 km.
• Purchased a bespoke towable log splitter with lifter and conveyor, custom-built by Daniel from Green Island Maintenance – currently showing 255 hours.
• Added a used Taian TL250 loader with hydraulic boom and four-wheel drive – showing 717 hours, weight 5,200 kg. Accessories include:
• Large bucket (holds 1.5m³ of wood)
• Pallet forks
• Grapple for unloading logs from trucks
• Added windscreen safety frame
Additional equipment included in the sale:
• Two Stihl chainsaws (MS661 and MS500i)
• Two 40-foot containers
The yard is conveniently located just off the motorway, with plenty of space to expand into a larger operation. Current annual rent for the yard is $7,020 (incl. GST).
