Listing length and auto extend
General auctions can run for 2 to 10 days, while general classified can go for 2-14 days.Trade Me Motors, Flats, Rentals and Businesses for sale classifieds can be run for up to 14 days. Real Estate listings can be run for 21, 28, 42 or 56 days and Job listings for 30 days.
DVD catalogue listings can be placed on the site for up to 14 days.
Listings finish at the same time of day that they were started at, but for a 25 cent fee you can choose to schedule the end time of your listing.
Auctions auto extend, which means any bids placed in the final 2 minutes will extend the closing time by 2 minutes from the time the bid was placed. Auctions will only close if there are no bids for 2 minutes.
Auto extend prevents buyers being outbid in the closing stages of an auction, and as a result sellers gain the maximum price for their auction.
