1. What are serial, model and IMEI numbers?

All of these numbers are used to identify a product, however each serves a slightly different purpose.

Model Number:?This number is used to differentiate between models in a company’s line of devices or appliances. Many devices or appliances can share a model number, indicating they are the same model.

Serial number: Often abbreviated to S/N, this number is a unique hardware identification number chosen by a company and given to each device or appliance produced. The number is used to match a product to its customer, so that the company has a record of possession. This number is only used by the original producer of the product.

IMEI number:?The IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity and is used to distinguish a mobile phone across all companies worldwide. The number can be used to identify and track a device that might be stolen or compromised.?

 

2. How to find the model/serial number for washer and dryer

On the Samsung Top Loader Washing Machine the serial number and model number can be located on the back of the unit.

On the Samsung Front Loader Washing Machine the serial number and model number can be located on the front of the unit.

On the Samsung Dryer the serial number and model number can be located on the front of the unit.

3. How to find the serial number and model number of your TV

On the back of your Samsung television, you can find a silver sticker. On that sticker is all the information about your TV when it comes to serial number, model number etc. However, if your TV is wall mounted, it can be tricky to access the sticker on the back that has the model number and serial number on it. If your TV powers on and you can access the settings menu, follow the steps below on how to find the serial number in the settings menu on your TV.

If your TV is not mounted, you can locate your TV's model and serial number on a sticker at the back of the unit. See the image below as an example.

  • 2023 - 2024 Model TVs: Settings > All Settings > Support > About this TV
  • 2022 Model TVs: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Support > About this TV
  • 2017 - 2021 Model TVs: Settings > Support > About this TV
  • 2016 Model TVs: Settings > Support > Contact Samsung
  • 2013 - 2015 Model TVs: Menu > Support > Contact Samsung

 

Where can I find the serial number of my Smart Phone or Tablet?

If the device will not turn on, you are able to find the serial number on the rear of the phone if there is a non-removable battery.
If the device has a removable battery this is located underneath the battery.

How to find in the device Settings

For devices on Android 9.0 (Pie) follow the steps below:

  • Open Settings on your device
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and Select About phone

You will find the Serial Number located at the top of the page.

For devices on Android 4.4 (Kitkat)

  • Open Settings on your device
  • Select the General tab
  • Scroll down and select About phone
  • Tap on Status
  • Scroll down and you will find the Serial number of the phone.

How to find with a Phone call

  • Open the Phone app on the device
  • Dial *#06#

This will automatically generate a pop up on your device showing the Model and Serial number. For the Serial number look for the number under SN

How to find on the Device

You are able to find the Serial Number of your device on the physical device itself. This can be located in a different section depending on the model device you have.

For Mobiles with a sealed back:

  • Make sure any case's have been removed from the device
  • Turn the phone over so it is screen side down
  • The Model Code, Serial Number and IMEI are printed at on the back of the device at the bottom.  

For mobiles with a removeable back:

  • Make sure any case’s have been removed from the device
  • Remove the back cover of the device and take the battery out
  • The Model Code, Serial Number and IMEI are printed on a sticker on the bottom portion of the device.
