Buying Used Motorcycle Parts: Our Advice
Buying used parts can be a great way to repair or restore a motorcycle without paying the cost of every component brand new.
However, there are a few things worth checking before you purchase.
1. Confirm the exact model
Don't rely solely on the appearance of a component.
The same motorcycle model can have different parts across different years, markets or variants.
2. Check the part number
Where possible, compare the part number on your existing component with the part number provided in the listing.
3. Check the photographs
Look closely at photographs before purchasing.
If you need a closer look at a particular area, ask us for additional photographs.
4. Ask questions
If you're unsure about anything, ask before ordering.
We'd rather help you identify the correct part than have you purchase something that isn't suitable.
5. Inspect before installation
When your part arrives, inspect it before fitting it to your motorcycle.
Check that it is the correct component and that there is no obvious damage from transportation.
6. Keep your old part
If possible, keep your original component until you've confirmed that the replacement is correct and functioning properly.
