SIGMA 4 - MICROLIGHT

Sigma 4 was designed for training, tourism and sport. It can do special tasks if retool it with special equipment. For example, water skis, snow skis, and chassie. The airplane was designed according to requirements of JAR VLA. The concept of wings above the plane with front engine position and dragging propeller was designed in order to provide the good review from pilot cabin, minimize the run-up of alignment at different variation of load, as well as, comfortable landing in to cabin. Besides, the chosen composition of power installation is to reduce the possibility of damage of air-propeller in the out of aerodrome base, especially at exploitation of airplane with skiing and floating chassis, to reduce length of run-up on account of effective blowing on mechanism of wing on the take off.

The modular design of the plane ensures easy change of the plane modification according to customers wish. The main frame of the plane is made of metal, the outer skin of the cockpit and wing is made of three-layer fiber-glass plastic. Center engine mounted on high wing ensures good viewing capabilities and convenient cockpit entrance, minimum variation of center of gravity position with different loads, decreases probable propeller damage during landings, takes-off onto and from unpaved aerodromes, especially with ski-equipped or float-type landing gear. It also, shortens take-off run due to the good air flow around the flaps.
