BMW 525i 1990

Blown head gasket and has wrong transmission as motor and box was going to be upgraded and plans changed. Purchased another engine and trans to put back to original, has been fitted and hooked and is running and driveable. The original trans was a standard 4 speed auto and the new one has the selector switch for sports/econ changed wiring loom to suit but will only select top gear when in 1/2/3 & drive for some unknowen reason, could be something simple but don't have the time to look into it. Has been professionally lowered with new springs and shocks, AC Schnitzer body kit and alloy rims, near new dunlop direnzer tyres 235/45/17 front 255/40/17 rear. Full leather interior, was a good reliable car prior to motor transplant. Rego on hold and had new WOF before being pulled off road.
