GSX400X SUZUKI IMPULSE TURBO MANIFOLD&TURBO
Description
GSX400X Suzuki Impulse turbo and manifold setup. Bolts straight up to the standard head. Turbo spools up really well bolted onto one of these motors and is the smaller turbo off the late model subaru legacy twin turbo.
This Turbo is in very good order, there is minimal play in the shaft if any, and would suit someone just looking for a good turbo.
I started this project with high hopes but moved onto less complicated performace options as blowing air through sensitive, cv carbs can be a very mind fucking process, but is very achieveable to a patient person with a little time and brains, which i do not have either luxury. many books are availible on this type of modification (turbocharging carburated motorcycles).
the only other hurdle to overcome with this mod is getting the oil to return from the turbo back to the motor, as the crankcase is pressurised i found the turbo would not relieve its self of the oil as the pressure would not let it return, i had plans of creating a couple more large crank breathers, which would be very simple and quite possibley provide the results neccassary.
i will also throw in the lh engine cover which i have modified to accept the oil return from the turbo, by alloy welding an oil drain into it. To add to the list i have tapped the oil feed from the pressurised oil line running to the oil cooler to also feed the turbo by brazing a similar size tube to mate with the oil feed line on the turbo. i will also supply this if a std oil cooler line is supplied to myself.
