1981 Honda C50

My loyal daily ride. Has been lovingly looked after.

Has new rings, hone, valve grind, valve seats faced, and cylinder head and cylinder cleaned by Mace Engineering in town. New gaskets and valve oil seal.

Has a pod filter. This does away with the original convoluted airbox system. Don't worry, I have jetted the carb appropriately. I kept the original air filter assembly.

I use Caltex Delo 400 in the engine and it doesn't use any oil between changes, no smoke. Runs great.

Registered as a moped. I bought it registered as a moped. As such, I have ridden it on my full drivers licence and no WOF required.

All electrics work. Has new battery. Even the light behind the gauge works!

Has a 15 front and 40 rear sprocket. Makes for a quiet engine at town speeds. Easy to ride 3 speed.

Has a rear wheel and tyre off a CT90 with new rear wheel bearings. The original road IRC tyre on the old wheel is included in the auction. All have good thread. The old rim is cracked and has rust holes. Both tyres are interchangeable.

Has new brake shoes front and rear. Chain is lubricated regularly with a Silkolene product and sprockets are in excellent condition. I have adjusted the chain regularly.

There is the usual surface rust on the frame, bars and muffler as can be expected. Worst of it is the bit of metal under the seat. The legshield is in the worst possible condition. It's held up with duct tape having cracked in a few places. Ebay is the place to go for a new one. As it doesn't affect the mechanicals, I didn't bother (I'm a mechanical engineer). Never dropped. Has a inch long scratch on the seat which has not gone through the cover.

Odo gauge is only 4 digits. Best guess based on the last recording is approximately 60k.

Buy this iconic scooter and ride it for the next 30 years! Sad to sell as just got my motorcycle learners and upgrading!
