Honda CBX250 RS 1986
Description
My CBX has served its purpose so now its time to find a home with another newcomer to motorcycles.
Generally this bike is in pretty good condition for its age with the usual bumps and grazes that you would expect on a learners motorcycle.
The engine is a twin overhead cam RFVC, with twin carbs and pipes. Rated output when new was 30 HP. Check out a few of the other learner models, GN250, CB250 and compare.
Since buying this bike I have replaced the cam chain and tensioner, replaced the bearings on the cam shafts and resin coated the inside of the fuel tank. An o-ring chain was fitted about 4 months ago and the fork seals recently replaced.
Although it doesn't blow any smoke when riding, it does use a bit of oil, (like most old Honda's) but this has been a reliable bike that I have ridden in to town from Mosgiel almost every day since I got it and I'm sure will give the next owner the same reliable service.
This is a very easy bike to ride and comfortably keeps up with the traffic on the motorway.
I am still riding this bike in to work every day so the k's will increase accordingly.
