This helmet meets USA DOT FMVSS 218 specifications. If you feel a need to, check with LTSA before buying. After all it is your choice. Certainly see heaps of guys with half helmets and the like.

To check for your size, try and use a measuring tape as follows: The circumference of the head should be measured at a point about three cm above the eyebrows, or wherever you feel is the largest possible measurement. If your measurement is between two sizes, take the smaller size for your helmet.
