Yamaha SR500 1979

Up for grabs very very tidy 1979 SR500 thumper, if you have a yearning for that old school single cylinder this is the one, whether you want to keep it stock standard or transform into your dream cafe racer/brat/bobber this is a classic bike to work with. The bike starts easily and runs well.Whats it got? (only 10,468 MILES) it has koni rear shocks and progressive springs at the front, I changed the carby to a Mikuni TM36 flat slide and also put a megaphone onto the exhaust, the bike is very loud but sounds great running down the road, the original muffler is still available. There is a brand new front tyre and the rear has plenty of meat left . What does it need? Well the fuel tank is faded and could do a respray , a new chain wouldn't go astray as its a bit stiff in one section. Also available is a R1 Blue dot front brake caliper with adapter bracket and M/C should you want to up grade the front brakes, I also have a small diaphragm kit to change to fuel tap from Vacuum to free flow to suit the modern pumper style carby, it works fine on Prime but is a pain when you run out of gas...
