Austin 1800 Camper Van 1966

This is a one of a kind. Back in the very early 1990's some industrious fellow in Ashburton chopped 2 Austin 1800's into this fine and amazing camper van. We call it the 'Mushroomer'. It's wicked, when you sit in the back while traveling it's like being in a room on wheels. It has a 3 way fridge, stove top with toaster capabilities, jug, pots, sink with water pump. Toilet with a 'throw it up' toilet tent in camo green. Deck chairs, screw in table, fishing rod, solar panel to boot up the interior battery, interior and step lights. Plenty of storage space above the drivers & passengers area as well as at the back above the bed. The bed is a 3/5 size that slides away to become a comfortable seat or put the table up for indoor dining.
We have owned this glorious beast for the last 3.5 years and have spent tons of money and love on getting it road worthy, and caring for it in the manner it needs to be. We have now found ourselves in a position where we won't be enjoying too much holiday time so it's time for some other lucky people to enjoy this wee treasure. We've traveled through-out the South Island in her. She enjoyed a ferry crossing and now resides in the North Island. Our most recent trip was in February and we cruised around the Hawkes Bay for a week, was magic. She doesn't go too fast but is sure and steady. All major work to up grade her has been done. The decor is pretty tidy but kind of stuck in the early 1990's. A few new curtains would do the trick. We started with ones in the back but then ran out of time to give her any more love. Now she is an extra room for us and she deserves more than that. Her heart is solid and she loves a challenge. Starts every time. Comes with many wee extra's.
