BMW 740i 1996

1996 BMW 740i Silver with black leather. Bought in Feb “TM (number) $3,900 or near offer.” I have spent lots to detail this to a brilliant car but have to sell as wife hates the colour.

What's great: No suspension shimmy. BMW 17 inch wheels, lowered. Handles beautifully. 28 mpg from Auckland to Wellington . Cruises well but corners like a sports car. Last of the drivers 7 series and the best looking (Google E-38 BMW). New hand stitched leather steering wheel cover. New tyre pressure and temperature sensors and dash readout. Ensures you drive safely and economically. LED instrument lights (all by me) Double glazed windows, bullet proof and thief proof and keeps heat, cold and sound out. Cruises silently. Has brand new WOF with 2 new tyres Parking distance control front and rear.

Radiator overflow reservoir replaced. Battery replaced. Suspension struts replaced (thus no shimmy). Regular service. Lots of receipts. Black leather, refurbished by me . No Pixel problems. Electric front seats (3 memories), Paint mainly in good condition, no dings, James Bond silver (wife hated colour so, after making the car great, I now have to sell it.) I have polished the car with canubra wax and glaze and detailed it . (still wife doesn’t like it). New BMW badges front and rear (no help!). Has 10 speaker digital sound processing (DSP) stereo with 4 small subs on parcel shelf. See below re sub. Has full range FM radio (not the Japanese type)

What’s not:

• Rear window blind only works by hand (I keep it up all the time, keeps car cool).
• Cruise control needs new actuator ($60 second hand).
• Paint on roof has some clearcoat loss if you look closely.
• Only one key and remote doesn’t work. (new key with full remote, specially for this car can be ordered from Germany via Dunedin for $NZ270.94 incl. GST).
• Or buy an aftermarket one from Aliexpress which does boot and auto closes windows for $40 Sub woofers might need a fix (so my son says, they sound fine to me!)
