1976 Fiat 127 Special Hatch Back

Car originally brought to NZ from Singapore by an armed serviceperson. At some stage the engine was overheated. It was stripped and the vehicle remained in pieces in a shed. The car was saved from being taken to the dump by a elderly neighbor, who served in the war in Egypt. He hauled the car to his own home, carrying all the parts by wheelbarrow to his workshop there.

He had all the parts machined, and restored the vehicle to its current working condition and used the vehicle on trips from Whakatane to Opotiki.

he was in his 87th year.
