Land Rover Other Series II 1961

This is my 1961 Series II Landrover bought as a project over a year ago. Some work done, but I now have a Series III as my daily driver and that is keeping me busy enough, so this one will have to go.

It was last on the road in 2003 (reg was ES9669, but now deregistered), used on a farm until around 2010 and then bought by me in 2013. It has had a rear tray fitted at some point in its life, the original tub has been put back on, but it shows the scars!

The good bits: It seems to be mechanically complete and original, even has the Solex carb and oil bath air filter. It has not dripped oil or water onto my drive. The four 7.5x16 tyres are barely worn.

The less good bits: Rust in all the usual places - footwells, bulkhead where the hinges attach and chassis - mainly the front dumb-irons and the outriggers. The rear cross-member is not original. Needs a new battery.

I have not had the engine running, but it does turn over if given a jump start. It is movable, but will need a tow truck to get it to its new owner.

I've seen Landrovers in a much worse state restored and put back on the road, but otherwise would yield a lot of valuable parts for restoring another vehicle. Just needs someone with the time.
