Very rare Mercedes 220 V8 1964 Fintail.
1 year project. Fully certified.
5L fuel injected V8. Great performance and sits nicely in the fast lane on long cruises on the motorway.
Auto trans and power steering rack.
Original Mercedes diff.
Trans was rebuilt less than 2000km ago.
Front brakes are from an M spec Nissan R32 with 4 pot callipers and large dia rotors. New Mercedes booster, all lines rust free, full calibration. Spent over $4000.
Fuel tank is custom alloy with internal surge baffles. Same size as original tank, uses same mounts. Doesn't use original fuel gauge.
Radiator is original 3 core and has been re-cored. Has 1.5L larger capacity than the Holden one. Electric fan with thermo sensor switch.
Exhaust is 3 inch all the way with one muffler near the rear. Has a beautiful rumble and does not drone while cruising around.
Rust repaired on underside. Stripped and steel replaced. $3500 spent.
New front kingpin set with new bushes, this won’t need to be done again for another 30 years!
Battery is mounted in the large boot space.
17 inch alloy wheels powder coated gloss black with 215/45 tyres with painted white walls. Mercedes centres. Stud pattern 50114.
Red leather seats, mint condition.
Black roof lining.
Black leather doors.
All wood sanded and re-varnished on dash and doors to a beautiful pine colour, looks amazing against the black leather doors and red leather interior.
New red carpets and underlay.
New black steering wheel with red leather cover - $750 from America.
New front Mercedes badge.
Brand new Mercedes rubbers on front and rear glass - 3 weeks work and over $2000 spent.
