Original 1968 Bedford Dormobile Romany

The Bedford Dormobile Romany was one of the most popular motor caravans in history and needs very little introduction. It was one of the most successful designs to ever wear the Dunstable badge with a staggering 370,000 sales over seventeen years. Featuring the 1508cc OHV engine, along with Bedford's familiar three speed column shift, it's a real head turner when driven around.

Imported from the United Kingdom many years ago, this classic features:

• Original engine
• 3 speed column shift gearbox
• Drum brakes
• "Pop top" roof with 2 bunk beds
• 4 Vinyl seats lie flat to make 2 single beds or a double.
• Carpeted floor
• 2 tone paint job
• Partially restored interior

Selling with a $1 reserve as an excellent project, because I am selling on behalf and it needs to go. It deserves an owner who is willing to work on it and bring it back to its former glory.

The winner will have to be responsible for vehicle removal from Onehunga. The engine itself is in operating order, however the radiator and thermostat housing need to be replaced so it should not currently be driven. No current rego or WOF. There are rust issues around some of the panels as shown in the pictures. There is also a bit of mould in the interior - particularly the curtains which will need to be removed. Seats have been re-covered in vinyl and are in good condition.
