Attention all interested parties: take my details if you don't bid and want to come and see the car; no use guessing from a distance and I can't post enough pictures to satisfy the timorous. The price is the price:it's a great car and anyone who does come will buy it if they love this (wonderful) model.

The most fun you can have in a (nearly)50 year-old car....it goes like the proverbial rocket! The Amazon won the World Rally Champs 3 times in the 60s; the B1800 motor holds the world record for most miles without a rebuild (over 2 milliion). This car was assembled in South Africa and had one owner until the late 90's. Her daughter imported it to NZ. The interior has been redone and significant money spent on the engine, brakes and clutch since its arrival; over 4k by the importers and 3k by me in 2013. Twin SU carburettors fully reconditioned. It needs need window rubbers and a rear engine seal. Its new owner will preferably have mechanical skills to keep this classic going for the next few decades. I'm away for the week from 2 March, so will miss the close of this auction. I will contact any buyer on my return. My firm minimum price is my start price and I though I may relist it, I will happily keep this car if it does not sell. Two new tyres since last listed; has had new tyres all round in the last 1000ks.
