Jordan at the Christchurch branch was very helpful, and didn't act like a "salesperson" to us. We were clean about what we were after, and he respected that.

Not a great experience at all. I've been looking for a new vehicle for a couple of months. We live in Southland and I saw the car advertised online - my partner was travelling through Timaru on Saturday 14/09 so he contacted a salesperson earlier that week to organise a test drive. Salesperson assured him she'd be available anytime on the Saturday. He told her he would contact her Saturday to give her a more definite time. No go: she did not reply to any calls or texts on Saturday. He arrived at the Timaru yard approx. 2.30 pm. Two other customers were at the yard and were calling the afterhours number, advertised on the office door, and were speaking to the salesman. He called after them and got no reply so carried on his journey. He would try on Monday on his way back through. Monday success! Test drive, car ticked all the boxes. My partner called straight after the test drive, with the salesperson. Over the phone I told her I'd like to purchase the car and would also like to arrange transportation to the Gore yard - she said the car would be transported in a couple of days. I gave my email and asked for the invoice to be sent in the morning, so I can organise immediate payment and get the transportation sorted. 17/09 No go: I contacted the car yard at 10am to ask for an invoice - she sent something but not an invoice. I was assured I'd be sent that asap by a different salesperson. No go: I called again at 1pm - will send that now. I asked about the transport day - it will take approx. 2 weeks to transport the car. The salesperson told me I'd been given incorrect info by the other salesperson (because she's new). She said she would talk to her staff and their truck driver and get back to me. I asked about the Saturday test drive - she told me my partner was told by her partner, they did not open after hours (wasn't my partner he'd spoken to). Upset is an understatement. She called back to tell me their driver could transport the car on Thursday 26/09. Or if I wanted to arrange alternate pick up, they would reimburse me the $350. I almost cancelled the purchase. Big picture: please can you let me know when the car is on the truck. She said she would, but they drop their cars off a couple of days earlier and aren't sure when it's on its way. However, she assured me (on the phone and in a later email) that she would let me know, then I can arrange pick up. 24/09 I got a phone call from the Gore yard; car had arrived. No email saying the vehicle was even in transit. I explained that I couldn't get there till Thursday or Friday (as told by Timaru yard) because I live an hour away. He was fantastic: he'd wash the car for me and park it in their workshop. He's restored my faith! A really exhausting, nightmarish experience. Do they even want to sell vehicles (was asked by one of the other customers my partner met on Saturday)?
