Description

**The Opportunity ** Travelling around New Zealand and looking for a fun, hands-on role, or you might be a seasoned calf rearer. Come work with our awesome team at Endurance Dairy and help raise our next generation of healthy, happy calves, or alternatively jump in the shed and be a part of the milking team producing quality milk!

You’ll be feeding our calves and making sure our calves are thriving. Animal care is a top priority here—so if you’re someone who genuinely cares, this is your chance to make a difference.

You’ll also be a part of the team milking 800 cows at peak through a 54-bail rotary with an in-shed feed and protrack drafting system. You will be expected to be cupping on and off and be able to detect basic animal health issues so an eye for detail is a must.

This is a drive in/drive out role—you’ll need your own accommodation and reliable transport. The job runs from now until late November, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week (with potential for more depending on the season and what you are looking for).

The Farm Endurance Dairy, nestled in the central plateau, is part of Pāmu’s Taupo Pastoral Complex. The farm operates a twice-daily milking schedule, with 830 cows milked through a 54-bail rotary shed. We are currently split-calving with half of the herd already milking twice a day and the remainder due to calve over the next 3 months.

The dedicated farm team, consisting of four members including the Farm Manager, who leads by example. They work diligently, support one another, and prioritise the safety of both our animals and staff.

About You You don’t need heaps of experience—just a good attitude, strong work ethic, and care for animals. If you're practical, reliable, and enjoy being outdoors, we want to hear from you.

You’ll bring:

  • A willingness to learn and give things a go
  • A genuine care for animals and their wellbeing
  • Experience in calf rearing or farming (ideal but not essential)
  • Experience in milking and a basic understanding of animal health (ideal but not essential)
  • Ability to work both solo and in a team
  • A restricted or full driver’s licence
  • Your own transport and accommodation

Benefits This is a great opportunity to pick up practical farming skills, earn money, and enjoy life in the beautiful countryside. You'll be supported by a friendly team, paid competitively, and get real-world experience that can take you anywhere.

Apply Now Applications close Sunday 20 July 2025. We will be interviewing applicants as they apply. To find out more about this opportunity email Becs Voysey, Farm Manager: mailto:voyseyr@landcorp.co.nz.

To be eligible for this role, you must be available for an in-person interview and have unrestricted legal rights to work in New Zealand. We are unable to accept applicants on temporary work visas for permanent opportunities.

Pāmu provides a safe workplace and the successful applicant will be required to pass a drug and alcohol test and undergo a criminal background check prior to being appointed.
