We're looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established contractor in the Kapiti Coast area. This family-owned business has a growing fleet of machinery and takes pride in its strong team culture and supportive work environment.
You'll be working across a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, drill rigs, graders, and more. The role offers both workshop-based and field repair work, with plenty of opportunities to grow your skills on a diverse range of machinery.
What you'll be doing:**
- Running diagnostic checks and identifying faults
- Preparing maintenance and repair plans
- Repairing or replacing engines, brakes, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
- Carrying out emergency field repairs and breakdown servicing
- Keeping accurate records of parts and service work
What we're looking for:**
- Trade-qualified or proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A focus on safety and quality workmanship
- Class 2/4 license an advantage but not essential
