Nestled in the heart of Greymouth Active Explorers Shakespeare Street is a caring connected space where children aged 2 to 6 can learn laugh and thrive. Set on a former bowling green we’re lucky to have a huge outdoor area perfect for climbing biking and exploring alongside inviting indoor spaces filled with creativity and warmth. Relationships are at the heart of what we do — we take time to truly know our tamariki and whanau creating a welcoming environment where every child feels safe seen and celebrated. Our one-room setup supports smooth transitions and strong peer connections fostering a real family-style atmosphere. We’re proud of our close-knit multicultural community — with strong Maori and Indian whanau connections and regular visits to our neighbours at the retirement flats next door. Our small passionate team has worked together for years creating a stable loving environment where tamariki can grow with confidence curiosity and joy.
We’re on the lookout for a fixed term Non-Certificated Teacher/Teacher in training to join our team - an ECE teacher who brings heart purpose and passion each day.

What we are looking for in you:
- You are passionate about teaching and always ready to learn and grow.
- Proven ECE experience in New Zealand.
- A good working knowledge of the Te Whariki framework to build from.
- A warm positive teaching style rooted in empathy and care.
- A genuine love for teamwork and the ability to grow with others. Currently eligibility to work in New Zealand.
