Permanent: 16 hours every Saturday and Sunday
Are you an experienced Chef seeking work/life balance? This is a part-time position working (Saturday/Sunday 6:30am-3:00pm) to cover the Kitchen Manager’s days off. We require a reliable and hardworking individual that shares our passion for food and service.
This rewarding position is located at Shalom Home, Mill Road, Kensington, Whangarei.
With a set menu, you will be a hands-on Chef responsible for running the food service for all residents. You will love preparing, cooking and serving wholesome meals that are freshly produced every day. You thrive on the day-to-day running of the kitchen and making our client and their residents smile!
This position is a pivotal part of our team and requires a cook/chef with relevant experience, or a relevant qualification either in culinary arts or professional cookery with 1-2 years‘ relevant experience who can:
- Prepare, cook, and serve wholesome food
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
- Advise kitchen staff on cooking procedures and techniques
- Demonstrate understanding of, and ability to implement New Zealand Food Control and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment.
- Ability to work unsupervised
