Description

Role Summary:

** ** You'll be responsible for accurately blending fibre to meet colour and quality standards. This includes safely operating machinery, moving and opening high-density wool bales, and recording materials with precision. You'll monitor equipment, report issues, and maintain a clean, safe work area. A forklift licence (or ability to obtain one) is required. On-the-job training is provided, with opportunities for further certification in textile manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and handle materials safely, including high-density wool bales.
  • Measure, record, and label materials accurately while monitoring blend quality.
  • Identify and report equipment or fibre issues, and assist with basic maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and refer to manuals for task guidance.

Skills & Requirements:


  • Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills (preferred)
  • Previous machinery operation experience (preferred)
  • Effective communication and ability to follow instructions
  • Good manual dexterity and nimbleness
  • Physically strong and reasonably fit
  • Mechanically inclined with good practical skills
  • Safety-conscious and aware of workplace hazards
  • Current forklift licence or willingness to obtain one
