We are looking for a motivated Street Environmental Worker to join our Waikato based team. If you enjoy working outdoors and making a difference to your environment, then this is your dream job.
About the role
- You will be part of a team maintaining our clients’ green spaces and/or street environments.
- Tasks will be varied and will include:
- Emptying litter bins from roads, the CBD, town centres, minor shopping areas & bus shelters
- Collection of bagged refuse and recycling.
- Collection and disposal of loose litter from footpaths, kerb and channel and other areas as required.
- Removal of leaf fall and other detritus from cesspits
- Work in with road sweeper staff to manually sweep traffic islands, and other hard to reach areas.
- Cleaning of street furniture, bus shelters and other council assets as directed.
- Graffiti removal
- Cleaning of council assets as directed.
- Manual Sweeping
- Report back on litter bins requiring maintenance.
Hours of work will be 6.00 am to 2.30 pm Monday to Friday (to be confirmed) plus some weekend work.
About you
The successful person will have: Experience in a similar role, or willingness to learn, Full Class 1 driver’s licence and ability to drive a manual, Class 2 licence is highly beneficial, Be physically fit and mobile, able to do physical work, Have a commitment to health and safety.
