Nissan Datsun 260C Cedric 1977

Up for sale is my old 260C. I didn't intend to be selling this. I got it to fix up and drive. But one of my dream cars, A Triumph 2.5PI Estate came up for grabs and I just cant keep them both.....Well that's what the Wife tells me. So very reluctantly the 260C, affectionately known as "The Ced" goes on Trademe.

Firstly the REGO IS ON HOLD! My intentions were to leave it almost as you see it. Ratty paint etc. I was going to patch up the rust with old steel oil drums leaving the welds exposed and colour of the drums exposed....A kind of Frankenstein patchwork style. Basically do the very bare minimum for a WOF, throw some mexican blankets on the seats, Lower it on some wide wheels and just drive the crap out of it. Roadtrips etc....Ahhh Sounds so Lush.

Its fitted with the L26 Motor (as found in the Legendary 260Z) which runs great. It could do with a tune up as it has been sitting. It doesn't smoke. Three Speed auto which is very smooth. Interior is in ok condition. The seats are worn, the dash top is cracked but its all there and its all original. The brakes are spongy but do work. The car is driveable onto a transporter. Please note the water on the ground is from me hosing the spider webs off the grille. The motor & radiator do not leak.

Right lets discuss the RUST: Now I'm not here to bullsh*t anyone. Its a 70's Datsun. It has Rust. Worst areas I have taken photos of. Which are both rear guard bottoms, Left front guard bottom, Some pinholes in sills, left corner of rear screen, rear of left sill in wheel arch, and around the drain hole in the spare wheel tub. There is probably more hiding and you are most welcome to look. The underside looks very good. Floors are good. Door frames & pillars are good. I cant get the boot open and I have tried EVERYTHING. The last resort is to cut the boot lid up. I cant give you a contact for heaps of parts.

This car is too good to wreck. It needs to be put back on the road.
