Description
This Sheffield silver plate entre serving dish is rather lovely. Condition is not perfect, as it has some wear on the top of and underneath the rim, and of course some normal wear on the base which cant be seen unless turned over and there are some usage marks on the inside. It has an applied cast border of gadrooning and arcanthus decoration. Measurements are: length 31cm, width 25cm and height 5cm. It has various markings on the base; "Fitting Copelands White Baker" and the makers mark "B & G GS" for Boardman, Glossop & Co, of Sheffield, who were in production from 1861 to 1927.
This was obviously made to fit a Copelands White Baker and could be most useful for the formal dining table or display on a sideboard!
