Ford Other Galaxie 500 1964

This is it! This is the year and shape Galaxie everyone wants, when Ford were heavily involved in Nascar, and designed the body shape for the high-speed super speedways.

I bought this 1964 Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop out of Arizona. It’s a factory red on red car (red exterior, red interior). It’s a 289ci small block car, and incredibly original. It still has its original dealer sticker on the trunk lid from Bob Wootten Ford, Oklahoma, but judging by the condition of the body, I’d guess its been in AZ most of its life.

The car has been sat for the last 20 years, and doesn’t run, but the motor does turn. Its complete, apart from a few trim pieces and other minor stuff, all of which is available new from Macs Auto Parts etc. Or alternatively, I can import for you.

The body has a beautiful patina from baking in the AZ sun. The floors and trunk are in great shape. The only bad rust area is the passenger side lower rear quarter, but this is an easy fix with replacement sections sold new and very cheap. There is also rust in the back bumper. The rocker panels on each side are dented from whacking a curb. Otherwise just small dents and dings.

The soft parts, eg seat vinyl, door cards, rubber etc have perished from the sun, but the carpet is good enough to save. Again, interior items are available new.

Overall a beautiful project car providing plenty of options for its new owner, depending on your taste and budget; restore, hot rod, or freshen the mechanicals and keep the patina.

The odometer reads 17,971 miles, but I assume its been around the clock once. That said, the door hinges have absolutely no play, and the carpet has very little wear, so maybe the odometer is correct.

This is a big beautiful cruiser that seats 6 in comfort, and will turn heads everywhere it goes. These ’64 Galaxie’s are an appreciating classic, with values on the rise, so will also be a great investment.
