1901 .303 LE Carbine. Serial No.3!!!

Fancy owning the third Lee Enfield carbine made? Well here it is. Lower rifle in the main photo.
Bolt & barrel are serialed in the 5000 range. Good original finish to both wood & metalwork. Reasonable bore. Foresight altered slightly for HV ammo, front sling swivel repaired. Magazine is from a Lee Speed & restricts cut off operation.
Butt is LE. Probably started life with a different style forend. Inletted for a MkIII rear sight.
Identical to a New Zealand Carbine apart from the markings.
Very tidy overall condition and a very cool serial.
Second rifle from the top is an excellent 1901 NZ LEC & will be for sale soon.

Seller Comment: Just chatting to a knowlegeable collector. We concluded this is possibly a New Zealand Carbine that for some reason didn't get stamped when it arrived here.
