My fear can be your gain- I got these intending to have my first foray into tubes, but dealing with the high voltages scared me off. Here is what I know about this project: The drivers are Philips Hi-Z, ADZ4000AM full range drivers. They are rare and highly regarded in some quarters. I have powered them up with an old JVC receiver, they work with no VC rubbing and DC resistance for both are very closely matched. The amp is from an old radiogram, it will be one of the very first Philips stereo amplifiers. I have powered it up only once, when I found it, and it gave sound (low hum) through both channels. Only when removed from the cabinet did I see the burning on the underside of the chassis. I have decided that it is beyond me technically, now it is your chance! Valve complement: 2x EZ81 rectifier, 2x ELB81, 2x ECC83, 4x EL86 plus three other non-ID'd valves and one vacant socket. Philips connectors included.
