Description
This really is a great car.
I've had it now since Nov 2007 and I've had almost four years of trouble free motoring from it.
First off, the bad: _ The clearcoat on the bonnet had two spots on it when I bought the car, now this has over time warn to almost all of the bonnet. _ Some little #$&* badged the front a few years back. (but not the important rear ones!). _ There is a small tear in a seam on the side of the divers seat, hardly noticeable. _ For some reason the retractable side mirrors don't retract - but they're still power adjusted.
I have had quotes to fix the paintwork and rebadge at $350-$450.
Now the good!
This is kind of the 'car of the future' for 1990. It's an excellent car. It's features include: _ Power mirrors. _ Retro pop-up headlamps _ Electric Sunroof _ Cruse control _ Air Con (quite good!) _ Good Heater (which is really good!) _ Power Steering _ Four Wheel Steering _ ABS Brakes _ Power Windows
Just about everything you could want!
The car really goes and loves the open roads. It has the power when its needed and lane changes are way to easy. I Will miss this little cars high performance. The other great feature is the four wheel steering. U-Turns on tight roads are never an issue in this thing and parallel parking is a breeze - good if your city based. It's never failed a warrant and has always been seen at Nathan's Service Centre in Christchurch.
Below is from Wikipedia - about this very car! "Honda released the Prelude SiStates in 1990. Originally available only in Japan, this car was a limited production run and very few were built. It featured four-wheel steering, ABS, limited slip differential, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, extra sound deadening on the firewall and hood, rear windscreen wiper and washer, and many more features that were usually options. It also featured a unique B21A engine rated at 145 bhp (108 kW) that was only produced for the SiStates."
Will be missed, but time to move on!
